The war years had an effecl on lhe
enlire world and il seemed lhal no
maller where you lived. one could
nol escape lhe harsh realily of whal
was laking place overseas. Even Col-
lingwood Collegiale was affecled by
ils cruelly. One former leacher and
sludenl. Mrs. Irene Carswell. recalls

on lhe school. As a member of lhe
sludenl body during lhis period. Ir-

Qunnalls. would hold assemblies for
