    THE GLEANER
has dazzled Wright's team. Here is the line-up: Wright, Mil Thompson, Doug. Scott, Pee-Wee Maclntosh, Lock McAllister, and 1<at J.i'awcett. Last, but not least, is Sherman Taylor's team. li1s roster contamed, amongst others, Ed. Brophy, Chuck Clark and Reg Hawman.
All this was mid-season dope and as usual new stars sprung up and the dope was spilled. When the schedule ended Hartle was leadmg the League and was then to meet the second place team tor the Champwnship. However, three teams were in the running for second place. Giving four teams a chance for the champwnship. Hartle and Bedenham played off and on the :1ame night McQueen and Wright clashed. Hartle and Wright were the respective winners and so qualified to meet in the Championship.
l!.;veryone awaited the big game with interest. There were no thousand dollar side bets, however, but the sporting critic8 chose Wright as a slight favorite. This was perhaps due to the fact that Cogg Smith was absent from Hartle's line-up when the two teams met. Nevertheless the League leaders still re- tained confidence and went in determined to win.
As in all championship games the checking was too close to produce anything like spectacular hockey. Both teams seemed content to try long shots at goal, but both Wright and Brown were unbeatable in the nets. There were perhaps no outstanding stars, but the work of Wright, Thompson and Macintosh on Wright's team and that of Hartle, McQueen, Brown and Allison on Hartle's team stood out.
Half way down the first period McAllister took a pass from
Scott and drilled the little black biscuit past Brown. That looked
like a pretty good lead in such a close checking game. There
was no more scoring in the first or second periods due to the
stellar work of both goalies. Thompson did some nice rushing
and his shots troubled Brown. To open the third period Allison
carried the puck up, circled the net and nearly scored. A dis-
pute followed but Referee Dey ruled, no goal. Then Scott scored I on a long shot for Wright and the game was packed away. All
hail to the Hockey Champions-Wright's team.

Thus far this year we have played no intercollegiate games, but when we do it will be best for our opponents to be on their mettle, because "we're out for gore".
