THE STUDENT COUNCIL
With Bob Storey in the Presid- ent's chair, his sister Louise not far off, and the Rice brothers at the end of the long library table, the 1930- 31 council had all the appearance: of a family compact. A t their first meeting Miss Clark and Mr. Rey- nolds were reappointed to the staff positions on the council and Don McKay was appointed Secretary. Shortly after a new position was created when Jack Kenny was giv- en a vote as Captain of the Cadet Corps. During January, owing to the vacancy made by Davidson, George Allen was elected to the Presidency of the Boys' Athletic Association.
ELECTIONS
In the 'third week in September, the fourth and fifth forms met to ,nominate the aspirants to the Stud- ents' Council and Literary Execu- tive. Robert Storey, president of the fifth form and consequently Of the Student Council as well, presided. After a hectic period each office was brought down to two. Running for seats on the Student Council were:
President of the LiU-Catherine McCabe, Francis Rice.
President of Girls' A thletics- Dorothy Welsh, Mary McCall.
President of Boys' A thletics- Tom Davidson, George Shipley.
Convenor of the Social' Commit- tee-Louise Storey, Nellie Hill.
Editor of the Cleaner-Charlie Connolly, W alter Rice.
The positions on the Lit. Execu- tive were contested as follows:
Vice~President-Doris Kells, Don McKay.
Secretary - Francis Herrington, Mary McCall.

THE BOYS' CHORUS
"Dugout Ditties" of the Lit last y~ar was n eomplete success and -:;he boys who took part in it were ask- ed to repe&t at several programs iu the town. When Commencement time came around the g_:·ov.p sang 3Qme cdchy Colhgiate Songs which made an .immediate hit. Later at the first open lit they again sa-:1g. The boyB in the group who are familiarly
known as "Atty's Basement Harl- mony Boys" are Francis Rice, Peter Bernhardt, George Allen, Alf. Miron, John Madden, Jack Brown, Bob Stor- ey, George Shipley, Don McKay, Jack. Kenny, Don McDermid, Walter Rice, Alex. Irvine, Bill Watts, Bud Mor- den.
Led by their genial leader "Atty" this organization promises to be- come a permanent attraction at the C. C. I. unless some of them happen to pass.
