That night long after Bobby was i~ the land of
Sugar plum Faries, Mrs. Taylor lay awake gasping for breath. A great weight seemectto be crushing her chest. She finally broke into ' a sweat. Putting on her worn red housecoat she sat beside thestov~ all that night. Not once did she slee~. The pain was torturous enough it- self, but financial worries flocked into .her already over-tax~d m i n d .
About five o'clock, when breat~ing became easier, she crept back into her cold bed. She l ay awake , still struggling for a wee bit of precious oxygen.
Several hours later, she heard Bobby shuffling

around his bedroom. S~e called faintly.
"Coming mommy," was the instant response.
A moment l ater he stood beside her.
"Dear, will you go and t ell Mrs. Newson that I'm
not well and wonI t be at work to-day';"
Bobby began to ask questions but Mrs. Taylor told ,
him to hurry or he'd be l ate for school.
No, protested Bob·by. "I'm going to stay home to-
day and look after you."
Mrs. Taylor, ilr a s she was, decided not tD press
the issue any further . If 'she should need a doctor, Bobby could run to get old Dr. Blackwell.
