Hallowe'en and Initiation
Qict.ober 31:1 found ,a gleam of fiendish delight in the eyes of all but First Formers. On their faces was portrayed fear of wh<tt was to ecme. As they filed into t.he rcom im1a weird assortment of costumes, the boys clad in shorts, nylons and hats, and th1 ~j..-Js in uyjamas, we gave them 1 rous:l:'l"\' wekome. This was th~ b::ginning of their initiation.
The first event of the eve, nlino: was a costume parade in Which B"rn~rd Chalmers and Herb Hirkling Clarried off all the hon- ours.

Then t.he First Formers were blindfolded, spun around. and then pulled p;aily dcwn the two flights of stairs to be re·~aled with spoonsful of flour, 11aw eggs and epsom salts.
This entertainment over, we nroceeded to Second Room, and danced to the m11sic of Lawrence Lincisay's orchestra.
