The Key Club is a service club within the school. It is sponsored by Kiwanis International. Meetings are held every Wednesday noon in Room Three. Besides the members, there is a staff adviser, present, as well as a Kiwanis adviser and two Kiwanians. Each week the Key Club sends two members to the Kiwanis meet- ings. Every so often a guest speaker is present at the meetings, to give talks on interesting subjects. Every year elections are held, providing experience for the boys in democratic ways.
In 1952 thirteen members of the Collingwood club went to Ottawa for the an- ual OQM district convention. This was held for four days at Fisher Park High School in Ottawa. Included in the trip were sightseeing tours of the federal government buildings and other points of interest. Members were billeted out at Kiwanians' homes.
Last summer two members were sent to the International convention in Chi- cago. This year the International Convention will be held in Los Angeles.
During the year several projects were carried out. They included the rebuilding of the baseball backstop, repairing of broken toys which were handed over to the Salvation Army for distribution, and a prize-winning float in the Santa Claus parade.
At Easter, another OQM district convention was held at East York. It inclu- ded some inspiring speakers, sight-seeing and dinners at the Royal York and Casa Lorna.
