SOCIAL
EVENTS
The social events of the 1954 - SS seascn started off with the •Ddtiaticn• Dance with IIDlBiC by Gord Oliver and his "'lixie Teeners•. The purpoee of this dance is to introduce the Gl'ade nine populaticn of the school to the lighter aspects of collegiate life. The dance was a huge success with OTer two-hundred st'Odsnts in attendance
NO'f'8Jiber came and brought with it the "Sadie Hl!.wl::in1s11 Dance. It vas up to the girls to ask the boys to this occasion and to ask them to dance during the evening.
The Christmas dance, the "Sno-Ball"~was held en Dsceuber the third, in the beautifully decorated gym. Maey couples in semi-forma1 dress danced around a gigantic tree which was decorated with gay coloured lights. At the ends of the stage vere two smaller trees strung with blue lights. At twelve o•clock, the •anow• began to fall. as white ball.oons drifted doll!l OTer the noor. The feature of the whole evening was the crowning of "M1.ss Sno-Ball" and her two sttendants• Pretty Joan McAllister vas the queen, supported by Ruth Ditscn and Rosemary Redpath.
Records proVided the 1111111ic for the next two dances, the Valentine1s and the st. Patrick's. The latter featured an hour of square dancing and a special. appearance of Ml'. Doug. 'Walkllr whioh were enjoyed by all..
we are now anticipating the a:rmual Cadet Dance, the b:ichllgbt o£ C. D. C. 'I.'s social year. It w ill be held in the gym 011 Ma:y' the twentieth• .A. l1:1.dnight in Paris theiiiB has bean chosen and everycne is striving to make it a wonderful evant.
