THE CHRISTMAS DANCE
The "Tinsel Twirl" was held on December 21 and it was a fine way to celebrate the end of exams.
Tinsel stars on the walls of the gym and a large Christmas tree, hung with coloured lights and angel hair, standing in the centre of the floor made a festive setting. The girls in formals and semi-formals
and the boys in-well, ties but not tails, were out in abundance. Dainty corsages of baby '·mums in different colours were worn by the girls. This was an innovation arranged by the student council and it went over big.
The music, supplied by "The Me.Lody Men" ranged from jive to a waltz. The jive numbers seemed especially popular. Two lunches were served in the cafeteria. This year, a large ice punch bowl with flowers frozen in it attracted much attention.
Everything was perfect and the only criticism overheard in the halls, was a sad "no mistletoe!"
