I am, unfortunately, a procrastinator. For weeks this editorial has been hanging over my head Iike some horrible ghoul. It has haunted all my waking hours, plagued my studies, and, Iike Macbeth, has mtXdered sleep.
Most editorials express profound thoughts. I happen not to be at my best at eight o'clock in the morning, so, profound thoughts ignore me. I merely wish to thank all those who have had a finger in gluing The Gleaner together: Especially, I must thank Dean McDermid since he is an authority on throwing rubber-glue. I thank Brenda Gilbert and Gwen Daley for coming to help in the afternoons and bringing their hordes of admirers. A special recognition goes out to all who fingered through the piles of snap-shots and managed to squelch the desire to sneak a picture into their pockets.
Above all, I thank Jerry Rogers, my red-headed co-editor, for keeping me amused by calling me names and blaming me for any of the major catastrophes that came along. Also, I thank Mildred Wilson, who let the strings of our money-bags go long enough to spend hours among the glue and snap-shots. I remember one night when we stayed up all night to work on The Gleaner--l'm still yawning!
Working on The Gleaner was fun. I wish you all could have gotten Scotch tape in your hair, glue on your nose, and pen marks on your chin with me.
I m'o/ survive the ordeal of living without The Gleaner on my mind continually . . . but it's going to be a long hard pull .
