 Curling
This past winter saw a great number of students (incidentally, they were all boys) curling at four o'clock every Tuesday and Thursday.
Saturday, January 16, was the most important day for the C.D.C.I. curlers as they were hosts to twenty-two high school rinks, some as far away as Lindsay, Toronto, and Oshawa. One C.D.C.I. rink led by skip Don Brock, Mel Brock, Paul Brock, and Peter Baldwin took home the honours in the 11.00 A.M. draw.
During the Christmas holidays, two rinks represented theC.D.C.I. in the District Ontario Playdowns held in Barrie. Wayne Brock's rink won two games, but lost 5-4 to the Barrie rink which played off with Orillia for the championship.
Near the end of the season, a trophy was given to the curling club by Mr. H. Schleifer.
It is hoped that this year's bonspiel will become an annual event, and that membership in the Curling Club will increase next year. Come on girls, don't let the boys get ahead of you!
