The Blue Mountain Forestry Club
This year of 1960 broughtmany new changes to C. D.C. I., one of which was the addition of the Blue Mountain Forestry Club which was formed under the direction of Mr. Duchworth, the District Forester, Mr. Arnold of Alliston, the Assistant Agricultural Representative, and our own Mr. Manue I, Agriculture teacher.
Since the club is a branch of the 4 H movement1 each member takes the 4 H pledge at every meeting and the agenda follows along as a regular 4 H club. The club members will also be able to compete in the fall fair later in the year.
The club has taken as its objective the disire to spread the knowledge and to unfold the secrets of the forest.
As winter is here now, most of the work is indoors. When spring arrives, however, field trips to such places as the maple sugar bush and other various wood lots wi II take place .
The officers are as follows: President, Gary Reid; Vice-president, Julian Low; Secretary- treasurer, Paul Schuller; Club Leader, Mr. Manuel. Under this leadership, a successful year and many learned excursions are anticipated.
