 The Social Whirl
The Christmas Formal, held on December 23, was a welcome relief after the frenzy of cramming and the week or two of " exam nerves. "
The gymnasium was gaily decorated in the Christmas tradition. A Ithough at one end of floor, chairs and hassocks huddled cozily around fireplaces, the large Christmas tree, covered with brightly coloured lights and angel-hair, in the center of the floor, was the object of everyone's attention.
The Bob Hunter band from Barrie brought the music, ranging from jives to waltzes.
A buffet luncheon was served in the cafeteria which, decorated in the Christmas colors of red and
white, seemed to take on a special air of gaiety.
The dance, one of the highlights of C.D.C.I. 's social year, was enjoyed by everyone. Much credit
goes to Jane Watson and George Andrews, for making the dance such a memorable occasion.
JANE WATSON GEORGE ANDREWS
Once a month, students happily trooped to the gymnasium to forget the cares of the long, hard school-day in the Coke Dance. The music was supplied by records, with "The Suedes" and "The Silver Tones," two groups of C. D, C.l. 's talent, occasionally giving the records a rest. The Coke Dances were a success with all; except--why couldn't there have been more of them!
