The main purpose of our Ski Club is to encourage prospective
skiers through the inexpensive rental of ski equipment and the after-
school excursions to the ski-hill. Here instruction is given to be-
ginners and tow privileges are provided for all. Through this learn-
to-ski programme many students have been introduced to the sport
of skiing, have gone on to procure their own equipment and have
1
become confirmed ski-enthusiasts,
The executive consists of: Anna Weider, President; Jack French,
Vice-President; Gloria Culbert, Secretary; Katherine Weider, Treasurer; and Mary Mclean, Social and Publicity Convenor.
Last year our club sponsored and conducted a High School Invitation Meet. Co II ingwood, in competition with students from Owen Sound, Barrie, Richmond Hill, and Huntsville, came out on top winning the team trophy and most of the event cups. This year the meet is incorporated in the G.B.S.S.A. so that Collingwood competes with schools in the district only. The trophy donated last year by our Club for Interscholastic competition wi II now be used for Intra-Mural competition within our school.
Membership in the Ski Club costs only 50ยข and entitles the nembers to an arm tab, the privilege of ski excursions, prizes for :ompetition and an enjoyable social evening.
Remember our slogan------------ "Controlled Skiing is Safe Skiing"
