The curling club under the direction of Peter Baldwin, has had a very successful season so far this year. For the first time in several years we have had a number of girls join our ranks. Next year we should have one of the best mixed ranks in Ontario.
In competition our teams have won several top awards. One rank, consisting of Wayne Brock (skip), Mel Brock, Paul Brock, and Wayne Butters, won the Pepsi-Cola trophy in Brentford, and just barely missed out on a trip to Prince George, B. C. to represent Ontario in the Dominion championships. Other ranks entered bonspiels in Hanover Brentford, Orillia, Don Mills and here in Collingwood. Several returned with "firsts."
This year we have some thirty-five curlers and are looking for an even bigger and better club next season.
