Dey take me in dis great big 'all, Where many females chase a ball;
Dey jump and leap and scream and call And chase around from wall to wall.
Then come an umpire in very short skirt, She wide awake and much alert.
She blow a whistle and go beserk:
De females stop with one fast jerk.
De ump, she scream and lose her charm. One girl she stop and raise her arm:
De rest they look with much alarm,
For one more point could mean much harm.
Another girl stand in painted ring, De rest line up along de wing. De ball it flies with one fast fling,
And falls down through a netted thing.
De crowd they cheer and laugh with fun, And start a count down one by one--
10 - 9 - 8 - 7 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1. At last de crazy game be done.

A WINTER'S MOON
The Winter's moon, stark and aloof, rose into the sky;
In all his pomp and majesty mounted his throne on high.
His flowing robes of silver white reached down to the earth below;
As if the night had turned to day and silken rays bathed the snow.
And yet was this a longing look from deep set sad- dened eyes?
His journey up the scathing heights had made him much more wise.
For those in such high places as Periclis has known;

Who am I to tell the world
Of wondrous sights once seen, Of mountains purple in the haze,
And pastures softly green? Who am I to witness things
That only God should see? Minds destroying all that's good,
With mass conformity. Who am I to live on gold
Bought with human breath?
And why should I have food and wine,
And others only death?
Senior Second
Yet who am I to criticize,
And state what's wrong or right?
For only in a distant time
Will man find Truth and Light.
And who am I to live my life In gay secluded peace,
When men are starved in eastern climes, With death their one release?
Who am I to do all this ? A living, human mind.
And Man will find Eternity.
In thoughts like these inclined.
