END OF DAY
Evening settles o'er the land.
Sun and warmth leave hand in hand, Dusk and stars come in their place, Soft, the moon puts forth her face.
Moving with the rippling lake, Shadows grow, and shrink, and break. Willows stretch towards the sky,
In the breeze, the rushes sigh.
Land and lake are blended, one.
Birds with songs have long since done. Heav'n reflects the starry gleam,
Of the moon's one glitt'ring beam.
Silence, peaceful and complete, Falls upon the world; so sweet. Souls of men at perfect rest, Find with silence they are blest.

As I sit here in class each day
Sometimes my thoughts go astray:
And I think of things that I have done,
But yet have hopes for things to come.
And I think of my dad, so dear is he,
And many others so dear to me.
Just why, oh, why, does one go wrong?
I ponder this all day long.
But there's a saying I supose is true,
No one is perfect: not me, not you.
We all make mista1.es in our lives
Everyone does wrong; not everyone is wise. I guess I'm the onlyonewhoseemsto feel this way; Sometimes it helps to write the words that you
would like to say
For I know I feel much better, but this is just a start Of all the emptiness, and how I feel, deep in my
heart.

And when I'm faced with problems; All kinds beneath the sun,
Instead of trying to face them,
I always turn and run.
So with this parting thought, I ask so all can hear,
Am I a man or mouse?
Am I afraid of fear?

YOU AND I
Many years have had their passing
Since we told each other, dear;
We would share life's joys and sorrows,
Close together, year by year,
We have travelled love's good highway over hills
and through the dales,
Finding sunshine on the pathway, smiling bravely
through the gales.
Still we're walking on together,
Partners in the game of life.
Hand in hand and heart to heart, dear;
Friends and lovers, man and wife,
Life could hold no richer blessings as the years
pass swiftly by,
Than to find us comrades, partners, You and I.

Am I man or mouse?
I ask you this in fear,
But if you should answer me; Say it; so no one else will hear.
For when a man doth challenge me, To a manly fight,
I fear I am afraid to meet;
This kind of earthly plight.
UP THE GARDEN PATH WITH MR. SMITH
Five days a week--ten months a year, We come into his class.
He welcomes (?) us while shedding tears And hopes this day's our last.
He opens up his history book-- "We'll start at World War TI"
But Linda asks with hopefullook-- "Was Eichman's judge a Jew?''
He snarls and growls and makes a face, And when he hears a laugh
Says-"I suspect you're trying now To lead me up the path."
He starts right then to lecture us, For forty minutes straight,
And by the time the bell has rung, W e've led him through the gate !
