SENIOR CONTESTANTS
Public Sneaking
From the thirty-four students who particpated in the Public Speaking Contest this year, Doug Webb and Cynthia Hacking emerged as the Senior winners, and Catherine Redpath and Deborah Worrad as the Junior winners.
In th~ finals, these four students spoke again in front of the entire student body. The competition in both divisions was very close, but finally the judges decided that Doug Webb, with his topic, "An Open Letter to Henry Ford," was winner of the Senior division, and Cathy Redpath, who spoke about "A Good Citizen," was the Junior winner.
The group then visited the Collingwood Lion's Club, which chose Doug Webb and Cathy Redpath to represent their club in district competition.
Each contestant was awarded a bar for his performance. In addition, the Students' Council provided a trophy for the winners of the two divisions. Behind the scenes, Mr. J. Kenney did a remarkable job of organizing the entire contest, and he deserves a great deal of credit for its success.
