The District Typewriting Contest was held this year, in Owen Sound. There were fifteen contestants in the Junior division and ten contestants in the Senior division.
In the Senior division, the Owen Sound T eam was the winner, and the Collingwood Team consisting of Sandra Abercrombie and Lynda Patterson, both of XII C, placed second.
The Senior Commercial Class of 1963-64 have a very interesting and in- formative trip planned for this year-- to three business establishments in Toronto.
First on the agenda is a visit to the Robert Simpson Company. This excursion will commence with a cup of coffee at 10:00 in the Cafeteria. From this point there will be a tour of the offices. Included will be the General Accounting Division and the Data Processing Department.
The winner of the Junior division was the Mount Fore s t Team, with the Collingwood Team, consisting of Jean Sawdon of XII C and Marilyn Abercrombie of XI F, coming in second.
The single winner was from Mount Forest, and Jean Sawdon of Collingwood placed second.
Immediately after lunch the head office of the Metropolitan Police will be toured. Here, all the departments will be available for our inspection.
Later in the afternoon a com_Qlete tour of the Canada Life Assurance Company will be provided. The General Offices will be the main interest.
All of these companies have been very co-operative in planning the details. The class is looking forward to this as being a very helpful and interesting experience.
