A New Day is Born
Marion McBride X- F
The grey streaks of dawn lighten the black horizon and cast an eerie pattern of shadows over the eastern portion of the sky. The silent world sleeps on, unaware of the miracle happening around it, and taking for granted the magic and power of nature.
Some of nature·s wild creatures slip from their dens and nests in search offood, while the night hunters return to their homes after their successes to rest quietly until darkness appears again.
The grey streaks of the horizon multiply, spread, and eventually widen to cover the whole sky. The blackness of night has disappeared, but the grey mists linger cold and dismal.
Dawn creeps quickly over the world as from behind the hills peep the first rays of the sun, clothing woods and fields in royal velvet, and giving silver sparkles, like the richest jewels, to the small stream winding through the valley.
Finally the sun, with a mighty thrust, comes to view from behind the hills, casting its warmth and brightness over the stirring land. A new day is born.
Spring Cleaning
There are four rooms within this house; I scrubbed and polished three;
And now three rooms within my house Are clean as they can be.
They seemed so fair unto the eye,
I gloried in this scene;
Then who should chance to happen by But little Charlie Mean.
He scattered dirt about the rooms;
He made a sorry mess;
He laughed, then said, "Get out your broom; Clean up this dirty mess."
And then he said in accents sad,
''Full joy is not in store,
For those who clean up just three rooms, But should have cleaned up four. ''

Time
Calendars show that time flies by, Tell us all we live to die;
Flash importance of a date Remind us that the time is late.
All the ages of the past,
Shout that life can never last,
Cry that drifting is a crime,
Warn us. to guard our precious time.

Toil On
When you think you've had enough
Of this dreary universe,
When you think that life holds nothing And that things are getting worse, Take heart, my friend: keep going on, There's a goal for you in sight;
You'll succeed if you have faith,
And work and strive with all your might.
Don't panic when trouble comes
With its fierce and wicked grip;
Don't give up when you are tempted
And you think you just might slip;
Just keep PLODDING, WORKING, PRAYING; You will find you'll pass the test,
If you do the best you can
And just ask God to do the rest.
