A large number of students attended the first record hop of the year, appropriately named "Discotheque", and held at 3:30 p. m. September 29. Records were given out as prizes for spot dances.
Over four hundred persons, including the "Grade niners", turned out for the annual Initiation Dance, held this year on October 2, 1964. Music
was supplied by a band from Toronto, assisted by the "Willington Brothers".
On Friday, October 30th, a Hallowe'en dance was held, with music by "The Fabulous Counts" of Toronto. Prisewinners for costumes were as follows, Karen Leach(best girl's costume),Martin
Morrish(bestboy'scostume), Carol Hewson and Charles MacNicol(best couples' costume), and Martha Nettleton, Sue Harvie, Mary Bush(most original costumes).
The major social event of the year was, of course, the Formal, "Midwinter Night's Dream", held on Friday evening, January 8th. Music by the "Bob Hunter Orchestra", an excellent lunch, and naturally the Beauty Contest were highlights of the evening. Sheila Wilson emerged as this year's Miss C. C. I., with Darlene Webb and Sue Storey as her attendant "princesses".
The Eye-0-U dance, originally planned for February, has been postponed to April 15th. Admission charges will be based on colourof eyes, with "shiners" admitted free.
Best Girl: Karen Leach, Best Man: Mortie Morrish.
Best Couple: Carol Hewson, Chuck MacNicol.
