The Tennis Team

In the fall we played an exhibition tournament here in Collingwood against Penetang. Although the final results for that tournament were not tabulated, let it suffice to say we all tried our best.
Even though that first tournament didn't exactly heap honour and glory on our heads, it did (sort of) prepare us for the G.B.S.S.A. zone trials in Penetang-Midland. The best showing our team made at the trials was by Bill Cox and Jane McGillivary , who won three consecutive rna tches before being eliminated .
Our coach, Mr. Feagan, put a lot of effort and time into making our team as good as it was,and we thank him.
Next year, it would be good to see more tennis players around. Tennis is a comparatively inexpensive game, and it's very enjoyable. The town courts are rarely crowded, so why not give it a try?
