Under the guidance of three of the finest coaches, Mr. Maracle, Mr. Hunwicks, Mr. Fruedeman, the newly named "Golden Owls" had a fine and productive season. The Golden Owls outscored their opposi- tion 183-58 for the season, losing only two games all season.
Aside from that, the Golden Owls worked hard and long hours to achieve such remarks as "The best senior football team CCI had for twenty years" (that was an old CCI player).
With Don Gallacher as QB, Karl Riabowol , Gord Gallacher, Chris Bowins, and Randy Bremner as a few of the Bruisers, other teams in the league feared the CCI squad.
Offensively, Collingwood enjoyed some rather easy victories this season. One such victory was against Eastview 53-3. Next, of course, the defense. These guys are the one that never get the headlines, but deserve them equally as much.
With the combination of a talented offense, a bruising defense and superb coaching, the team, we'll all agree, represented Collingwood very well.
