It was in this lmUdfng that the late William Williams
aJ>sumed tbe of principal in January, 1873.
This school was built in 1874 and was located on Hume Street. On December 21, 1923 the building was destroyed by fire. Leg- end has it that a bird carried a lighted cigarette into the school via an open window.
