       VOLLEYBALL
The Sr. girls' volleyball team ex- perienced a very successful and en- joyable season. After league play the team was in second place - losing only 1 match to a strong Barrie Central team . In tournament competition the girls placed third in Midland, second in a 12 team competition in Base Borden and managed to win the championship at our own Blue Mountain Invitational. The teams 20 matches won, 4 losses is a fantastic season record . The team will miss the leadership of four graduating players - Martha, Kelly, Ann and Trish .
Remember - Double fudge sundaes, Ann's knock out spike, Chinese firedrills, Laurie's hairdos, losing zone finals to Central, stuffing MaryAnn's spikes, XC ski party . . .
Its been a fun year - Thanks. Coach Laking

The Midget girls kicked off the season in spectacular fashion by chalking-up three consecutive wins. As the season progressed, however, the competition proved to be progressively tougher. Accordingly, by season end , the girls had mounted a 5-4 win-loss record. Then came the Zone 3 playoffs at Barrie Eastview. The girls put up a gallant fight but lost to a strong Eastview squad . This loss ended the season. But all was not lost. There were many areas of success throughout the season. Two volleyball tournaments were cases in point. In both events the girls went out on only after losing in semi-final play. This team is worthy of congratulations and thanks. Special mention is also accorded to Heidi Griesbach, and Roy Schryer. Both ex- pended much time to the team in their roles as assistant coaches. "Well done those good and faithful servants." Bump, set! Oh yeah, spike!!
