Steve Sammons was the 38-kilo champion. Eric Vandenhurk was a finalist in the 41-kilo division. David Dynes was also a finalist in the 61-kilo class. The team won many individual and team honours in various tournaments throughout the season.
The Fighting Owl Wrestling Team completed its best season ever. In the G.B.S.S.A. League, the team recorded victories over Huron Heights, Gravenhurst, and Parry Sound. The team finished fourth in the stan- dings. At the Georgian Bay finals Collingwood had 3 wrestlers go on to the "All Ontario Championships."
