ALPINE SKI TEAM
The Alpine Ski Team par- ticipated in the 1st Stayner In- vitational Meet as an opener for this season. Although most of the team members were inex- perienced, we did reasonably well with the girls placing 7th, the boys 8th and 7th in combin- ed. At our own Alpine Invita- tional on January 27th, the teams displayed a great deal more poise when the boys plac- ed 2nd and the girls 5th with a second place in the combined.
The team went on to the GBSSA Meet on February 6th at the Peaks where we ran into problems with skis being lost by the competitors on the tough icy course. Individuals placed well with Brett Titus coming 2nd and Krista Haiduk 1st. However, team standings did not place as well although we did win second in the combin- ed, losing by only 20 points. The boys' team placed 6th and the girls' team placed 4th at this
event. Unfortunately, we did not participate at the OFSAA finals, the first time in several years, but next year looks as promis- ing as ever.
