CHAMPIONS
For the second year in a row and the third time in the last 5 years our CCI Junior Boys Volleyball team captured the prestigious GBSSA championship. The team qualified for the GBSSA cham- pionship by winning the Zone 3 ti- tle, defeating Barrie Eastview 2 games straight in the final. During the GBSSA tournament they eliminated Woodbridge, Parry Sound and Markham Sacred Heart before contesting Midland St. Teresas in the final. In a long hard fought match CCI came out on top 2 games to 1. The team was led all year by returnees John Liot- ta, Dave Hollingshead, Riaz Mohammed and Brian Gurney. Newcomers playing prominent roles were Steve McKean, Mark Craig and Steve Davidson. Other first year players contributing when required were Jason Bar- nard, Charlie Cummings, Kirk Nell and Geoff Timpson. All players worked very hard for coach Chandler in daily practices. During the year the CCI Juniors compiled
a match record of 16 wins, 2 losses and 2 ties during which they won 48 games and only lost 19 games. They are worthy cham- pions. for 2% months of hard work, they have many years of fond memories.
