G.B.S.S.A CHAMPIONS·
Winning a G.B.S.S.A. champion- ship in a major team sport like basketball is by no means an easy task. This year's Midget Girls team had what it takes to accomplish this goal in fine style. The team practiced hard and played hard throughout a long three month season . In a total of seventeen games CCI was victorious in all but two, outscoring their opposi- tion 589 to 277 over the year. The "Fighting Owls" reached their peak performance level during the last few weeks of the season. They captured the "Zone 3" champion- ship on November 18 with a 26-19 win over St. Joseph's High School, and a 38-28 victory over Barrie North. At the G.B.S.S.A. finals
held in Collingwood on December 5, the winning trend continued. The first game was a decisive 47 to 20 victory over Parry Sound, and in the championship final Bar- rie North was again the victim in a 31 to 20 decision.
