      CURLING
The curling season of 1980/81 could only be described as a learning experience. Chris Orr, Martin Price, Alex McLeod, Richard Meesters and Rob White were the experienced curlers that Mr. Cook and Mr. Grant could build their teams around. Lee, Er- nie, lan, Doug, Mike, Mitch, John and Larry were the new curlers that showed a lot of promise for the future.
The boys competed in three events this year. There were two teams entered in the Pepsi-Cola bonspiel. One shipped by Chris Orr with Martin Price, Rob White and Richard Meesters and the other skipped by Alex McLeod with lan McLeod, Larry Burkholder and Mitch Grant. The competition was very good, as a result; both teams lost, but, the experience was worth the effort.
The boys became very interested in curling at this time and they entered a team in the Shipbuilders Bonspiel to gain valuable ex- perience. The team won one and lost two.
The G.B.S.S.A. play-offs were held in Orillia this year. Chris Orr skip- ped the team with Richard Meesters, Larry Burkholder and Rob White. The team curled well but were defeated by the more ex- perienced team from ODCVI and missed winning a close game against Bracebridge. The most un- fortunate event that happened this year is that Mr. Cook could not get enough girls interested in curling to field a team.
The C.C.I. Boys Curling Club would like to thank Mr. Cook and Mr. Grant for their efforts and time this year and that you look to next year for better things to come.
