CROSS-COUNTRY RUNNING
This year was not a "boom" year for the C.C.I. "harriers". Mr. Shepherd, Mr. Allard, and Mr. Knox, nevertheless, enjoyed the running company of their small, yet energetic team.
In Simcoe County competition, Pauline Verrette ran very well to earn the silver medal in the individual standings. The open girls team of Keri Titus, Sue Palmer, Denise Minardi, Bonnie Ward, Linda Lockhart, and Margot Minardi placed third in league competition. Then in the G.B.S.S.A. finals they beat out all other senior girls teams from Simcoe County to place second and earn an O.F.S.A.A. berth. Pauline Verrett gained valuable experience at the O.F.S.A.A. meet, placing in the top quarter of the field.
Hopefully more boys and girls will come out for cross-country running .next fall. With runners like James Knox and James Stanley placing in the
top ten of county races, C.C.I. has the nucleus of a good boys team.
