               The C.C. L Library
Our library has been busier than ever this year, with dramatic increases in student and staff use. During any one month, between 1200 to 2200 books were borrowed by students. (Who says that teenagers aren't reading i n their spare time?). One of the most popular areas of the library is the "Reading Lounge", where students can enjoy a quiet read i n a comfortable en- vironment.
In one of our busier months, 145 classes visited the library to work 'on class projects, learn research skills, or participate in the library's
3 reading stimulation program.
Library lessons are taught b y the teacher-
librarians: Mrs. Cubitt, Head Librarian, and Mr. Haiduk and Mrs. Wiegand, who share the position o f Assistant Librarian. Mrs. Murray, the library secretary, handles the audio-visual requirements of the school, as well as the routine operation of the library.
The Library staff is assisted by a volunteer library club, students from all grades who help with the routine clerical jobs. Although there are ten club members, three deserve special mention this year: Patty McCulloch, Richard Quinn, and Dave Kraan are daily helpers, who have given up many hours o f their spare time t o provide essential service to the school library.
