Although Student Council Flight 111987 had a rough takeoff during its' initial flight due to turbulents, the plane eventually evened out to complete a smooth and successful journey.
The crew was headed by Captain Ted Knude, a pilot known for his ability to stabilize in the roughest of conditions due to his accumulation of a great many flight hours acquired in previous trips. Without this dedicated and knowledgeable aviator, surely C.C.I. would have faced a fate similar to Air Canada's dilemma. Assisting in the navigation was Co- pilot Fred 'Vector' Folliott, an aeronautical specialist who guaranteed that each flight had clear air and unlimited visability. Wendy Ward, another member of the flight crew , had the responsibility of making sure that each destination was reached within budget and without need for ex- cessive refueling.
On-board entertainment was provided by Hostess Holly 'Radar' Williamson. She was a most capable addition to the staff although she often preferred to show N.B.A. Finals instead of the regular in-flight movies! Shawn Hilts, a member of the ground crew , was responsible for publicizing each and every flight, thus avoiding any overbookings. Air Flight Attendant Dana King was excellent at socializing with each passenger , making sure that they were comfortable during the entire flight. She was able to remain cool, calm and collected even when a passenger named Mr. Hunwicks accidently opened the inflatable raft during her pre- flight safety talk. Other ground-crew members that provided valuable assistance were Kenton McKean with 5 years experience; Dean Bell- inger, a man with 4 years; Danielle King, a 3rd year worker and Nicole Mercier who brought 2 years experience with her. A first year rookie, namely Jason Hawton, assisted with handling and loading. This position kept him extremely busy especially when it came to such passengers as Mr. Berni- a man known for carrying excess baggage. Air Traffic Con- troller, Mr. Vandeweerdhof, provided clear instructions and landing clearance from the tower. Mr. Shackell was also another vital component
in carefully charting each trip, making sure that no flight pushed the envelope.
This year over 1500 passengers flew with this outstanding crew. Each enjoyed a most enjoyable trip and many are looking forward to booking on Student Council Flight 111988.
