eachers are often viewed as a unique group of individuals.
The general public can't seem to agree on a common Topinion of our educators. Some people prefer to write in to the editorial pages of newspapers with such comments as ''overpaid" and "no one else gets two months for summer holidays". The next day some one else might express that "they don't envy the teachers of today!" At C.C.l., however, we have come to realize that TEACHERS ARE HUMAN TOO!!! They get mad, they sometimes forget things, they don't always know the answer to every question. They often get DOWN on you and wonder why someone could STOOP THAT LOW. But on the other hand, they try to pick you UP when you are feeling blue and they are often the first person that you REACH TO when things aren't going right. Futhermore, these teachers make every attempt to encourage you TO
REACH FOR GREA TER HEIGHTS. They let us know that its wonderful to be able to SIT TALL and take pride in ourselves and our efforts. They each stress that as long as we try our best, we will GROW into line successful individuals. Well prepared for a life that has its' many UPS AND DOWNS.
It is for all of these reasons that we decided to place our staff in order according to their height. Perhaps too, as you examine each picture, you will come to realize why Mrs. Gillham only writes on the bottom half of the blackboard or why Mr. Pommer has difficul- ty driving a Chevette. After all , teachers are human too!
Within the "Staff' section, you will find the following:
"What Was Your Teacher Like in High School?".............p.50 Staff (in order of height).....p.52 Questions for Mr. Tom Moore
... p.57 Mr. Sinclair's Retirement... p.65
ABOVE - One's shortness can interfear with every day ac- tivities. "I never thought I'd stoop to do women's work, but it's really not so hard.", com- ments a retiring Mr. Willis as he pours Mr. Grant a cup of tea at Commencement. LEFT - Mr. Hunwicks , it appears, needs some assistance in helping his geography students reach 'greater heights'!
