w h e n a teacher retires from ~ · department in a school, a noticeable void is created·. Tife retirement of our automotive teacfier, Mr.'..fim'Sinclair, certainly created a void in' our technical department. His pre~enc~is c~;:ttainly missed not only by members of the technical depart-
ment, }?l!! also by aU members. ofihistaff and student body. .
Mr. S.inclair came to C:LCJ. in 1965. He had taught in Sault Ste. Marie prior tothat as well as worki[}g at International Haryestor as a troubleshooter. Many of our local auto mechanics will remember .Mr. ·.Sinclair because :a vecy high number o f his students went into apprenticeships. The calibre of gr!l,duates from..Mr. Sinclair'~ programme was held in high esteem by both employers and the Apprenticeship Board. .
During his time at C.C.I., Mr. Sinclair
coached a number of teams: He started the
c.ross-cop~try ski program a!ld ,brought it to
a level which created admiration from across
the proyince and brought many awards to the
schooL,He was ~lso invqlved in the founding
of the Federat10n of Collingwood Sports' .
His.time..and effort allowed many teams to
travel, at reasonable cost, in the v~ns which he maintained. ·· · · · ·
We all miss 'Sine: and wish him the very best in his retirement. '
