The 1988 Cross Country Running Team, despite being small with only 17 team members, had a very successful season. In Simcoe County League, the Open Girls Team of Elaine Lindhorst, Pauline Verrette, Yvonne Leliveld, Jen Smith, Kim Stockdale and Susan augston won their division, with Elaine and Pauline finishing third and fourth respectively in
the individual competition. The midget girls team of Amanda Knox, Kathy Verrette, An- neliese Reckewitz, Samantha Owl and Stephanie Graham finished third overall. The Junior Boys Team, led by Scott Morgan who was the sixth as an individual, finished fifth in the league.
At the GBSSA Championships, the Senior
Girls finished second and qualified for OFSAA despite Elaine getting lost during the race. The Midget Girls Team finished in fourth and the Junior Boys Team finished sixth.
The OFSAA race course was very flat and fast, and the girls finished eleventh despite not running their best races.
