The medical world has found that a certain degree of stress is good for you. Obviously, these researchers have forgotten what it is like to write two final exams on the same day or have six major essays due within the same week! Because we are "One of a Kind " , we each show signs of being under pressure in various ways. Likewise, our methods of relieving stress vary with the individual. For ex- ample , when faced with unbearable stress (such as turning 25?), Sharon Gummer finds it necessary to "jump in the car, go pick up Mcleod and take a short(?) drive to Waterloo and back! Jen Mcleod finds a similar method useful - She "jumps in the car with Gummer and goes with her to Waterloo and back for a short drive! Kim Stevenson takes a totally dif- ferent approach to relieving stress. She cries, talks to her mom and then goes to bed. Kim Stockdale, on the other hand, simply panics and then makes long distance phone calls .
(Perhaps this means that she also panics when she gets her long distance phone bill!)
Jim Johnson prefers to relieve ten- sion by "lying down and having a little snooze- not a sleep, a snooze!" If you ever happen to see Craig Dunn out riding his bike, you can presume that he is trying to relieve excess pressure. Eryn Platt too finds the outdoors relax- ing. She'll go for a walk, jog or stay at home and play the piano. Malcolm Huycke prefers to unwind "by watch- ing a movie that doesn't involve any thinking!" How can you tell when Bill Gourley is feeling a lot of tension? He states, "My eyes roll back and I shake!" Please don't think that only students are subjected to great pressure. Mr. Hamlin says he just has to leave everything and get away!
Just remember that we are all faced with everyday ups and downs and eventually it all works out. In the mean- time just . ..
