Had a pretty good season
The fall Tennis Team had a record number of participants this year. Every evening after school up to 36 players congreted at the Cranberry Recreation Complex for practice. After four weels they had their internal tournament. The girls champion was Christine Schroeder with Andrea Canning as runner up. The boys champ was Mike Hughes and runner up was James Positano.
The internal tournament decided the playersfor the Simcoe County Rregional Tournament where fourteen players qualified. In the GBSSA tournament held in Collingwood both of our teams faired well.
The team members include Tina Hawton, Jamie Saunders, Andrea Canning, Shelley Plewes, Cory Stephenson, Mike Hughes, Jamie McQueen, Melanie Buie, Derek Seymour, Adam Wilcox, Cheri Hunt, Barry Doner, Christine Schroeder and James Positano.
During the spring of this year C.C.I. had both Junior and Senior golf teams.
Junior team members were Eric Sandell , Brad Weldon , Matt Vermilyea , Brant Bigham , Derek Weldon, and Dave Dunn.Our juniors placed 9th in the Collingwood Invitational Tournament and 6th at G.B.S.S.A.
Senior Team members were John Redick, Derek Griffiths, Joey Cunningham, Rob Holroyd, and Darryl Quirck. Our Seniors finished second in the C.C.I. Tournament and 7th at G.B.S.S.A. In the fall of '89 golf started up once again an we entered a junior and senior team in the
Midland Tournament. Our juniors placed 13th while our seniors placed 5th.
Players on the fall Junior Team included Shane Black, Mike Currie, Derek Kaiser, Pete Smith
and Steven Smith.
Players on the fall senior team included Derek Griffiths, Eric Sandell, Steve Siminato, Mike
Melnyk and Paul Nicholson.
