It was announced that the Colling- wood Collegiate Institute Ski Team would be travelling to Ostersund, Sweden to participate in the Inter- national Ski Federation champion- ship, in March, 1989.
The Collingwood Blue Mountain Winter Carnival was held in the area, from January 27 to February 5, with much success. Collingwood night, a fundraiser for the C.C.I. Ski Team, which is travelling to Swe- den, raised $3000.
Collingwood Collegiate won the overall championship at the East- view Secondary School invitational slalom at Horseshoe Valley Resort.
