We Are More Than Just 'a Little off the Wall' ... WE ARE THE WALL!
In this day and age, everyone knows that walls can not talk, but for some reason this never stopped peo- ple from wondering; "what if?"
Well, in my opinion . if a wall could ta lk, it would most likely say. "Would you please stop banging into me? You are ruining my complexion." or "I haven't had a shower for years. could you please hose me down." Who knows?
I was born on March 27. 1909. and accepted Into the walls of honour on April12. 1934. I feel quite priv· ileged to be one of C.C.I.'sgym'swalls.
Being a wall in this gym brings back so many mem· aries.Just the other day. the G.B.S.S.A.championships were held in my gym. The C.C.I. team was playing against a really good team and had a very hard time getting ahead. In the last ten seconds of the game. our team was losing by one point. It was then when a person on our team threw the ball over to another one of our men on the other side of the court. Unfor- tunately.the ball was heading outwards. With only two s e c o n d s t o g o , t h e b e y j u m p e d o f f m e . c a u g h t t h e b a ll and threw it bock into the court. Amazingly enough, the ball headed straight for the basket and, of course. it was a swish. I feel very proud that it was me he jumped off to get that last basket to win the G.B.S.S.A. championships. but sadness came over me since 1re- ceived no recognition.

While sitting on a parkbench starring at the wall, 1 thought. "What would it be like being a wall?" Later that night in bed while dreaming. the following things happened to me. It was a nightmare. I was sucked Into the wall.for what seemed like centuries. Kids came by and stuck gum to my face. teenagers sprayed me with spray paint. adu lts stuck posters to my hands and feet. The worst part was when the dogs came by.Just then someone woke me up. Thank goodnessl!l

The members of Mrs. Sharp's English class were asked to step back and be "A Little Off the Wall" by Imagining what ~ would be like to be one of the walls supporting C.C.I.I
My name is the "Berlin Wall." I separate the once large country of Germany. Because of me, Germany I s n o w k n o w n a s Ea s t a n d W e s t G e r m a n y . P e o p l e t r i e d to escape from East Germany over me, but most of them were shot and killed . I have stood for a lmost forty years and it was decided that in December 1989, I would come down. ln the middle ot 1990, 1started be- ing torn down. Just a while ago, several happening rock stars gathered and held a concert where Istood one time. Since I have been torn down, the two Ger- manys have become one country.

Wall speaking; "Oh, I wish these stupid kids would stop throwing balls at me. It's beginning to hurt and it's giving me a splitting headache."
"If only I could bounce something off of them and show them how it feels."
Just then a kid threw a ball at this wall. and what wasbelieved by all to be a bad bounce. came back and hit this kid right on the headl There was a faint and mysterious giggle. and to this day. no one is sure who's laughter rang out in the gym that day.

There would be a lot to say if I was a wa ll in a shop- ping plaza. New people would always be walking. sit- ting and even leaning close by. Strange people.
exciting people. rich people. poor people and maybe even famous people. I would be sure to have an opin- ion on every single person who walked by. I would pro- bablythinkitwouldbeinterestinguntiltheplazaclosed then it would be really boring unless. of course. walls sleep, although I don't know what I would say if I was a sleeping wall. Maybe someday I'll find out.

Hi. my name is Jim. the gym wall and I am the most unlucky wall of them all. Some walls get to hear the latest gossip, watch T.V., look at great food or listen to music. but not me. Nooo! Jim is stuck listening to screaming kids. watching them run around spasmat- lcally, smelling their horrid sweat. Worst of all though, is that there is nothing that can be done about the peo- ple who smash their volleyballs on my face all day long . Some days the most unbelievably painful headaches hit me. Once In a while. all the two thousand children and teachers gather within me In what they call an "assembly" and this Isthe worst experience evert What can be done? HELP!
