For the C.C.I. Jr. Football Team, the 1991 season opened with enthusiasm on a hot, muggy September day and closed with disappointment on a bitter cold day in November. The dis- appointment resulted from losing the GBSSA semi-final game to Barrie Central. However, after the sting of defeat subsided, they were able to reflect upon the achievements of the season.
The Junior Fighting Owl's season record was 4 wins and 3 loses finishing in 4th place. They won the Rocque Trophy emblematic of the local Stayner-Collingwood Championship. The rookie players developed fundamental skills and a good knowledge of the game. The veteran players improved their abilities and demonstrated intensity, and a leadership for the rookies. But most important of all, they had alot of fun and learned that few successes come in life without hard work! Many thanks to great coaches Simpson, Rhodes and Edwards!
