The C.C.1. Midget Girls Volleyball Team experienced an up and down season. A closely fought "nail biter" against Barrie North was a high point for the girls and a "give away" game against Bradford was perhaps the low- est point for this young team. Each player demonstrated improvement level and court play. All the girls were cheer- ful and dedicated to the sport. This group of spikers de- feated Holy Trinity, Thomas Aquinas, Staynor, Base Borden, SI. Joseph's and Barrie North. The scrappy crew lost by a narrow margin to the first place Banting squad and were also defeated by Bradford and Eastview. We ended the season locked in a three way tie for the final play-off spot with North and Bradford. Unfortunately, ties are broken by the ratio of games won and lost between the teams tied rather than battling it out on the court. The girls missed out by one point in going on to the playoffs. Coaches Sharp and Gilham enjoyed working with this fine group of young ladies. We'll show them next year!
The Junior Girls Volleyball Team finished with a record of 4 wins and 5 losses. The team played well all year but were unable to break through the tough top barrier of teams. The Co-captains were Marilese Keller and Tracey Sneyd, the middle hitters were Jodi Robinson, Jennifer Weis and Michelle Crago, as well as Lisa Martin. The cor- ner hitters were Jennifer Garland, Sheila Rolling and Lau- rie Swinwood and co-captain Tracey. The three setters were Jodie Blakeman, co-captain Tracey Sneyd and Kelly Clarke. The coaches were Ray Mickevicius and Ms. Jill Campbell.
This year the Senior Girls "HOOTER" Volleyball Team had a fantastic season with 6 wins and 2 close loses. Un- fortunately we lost the championship playoff game by two points which would have let us go on to the G.B. 'so High- light of the year were our famous "Q" drills, stories in the change rooms, card games, Andrea's cookies, "chicken tonight", and all those times we just could not stop laughing. Jill (the biggest "Q") meant to say once, was that the girls became better athletes and better friends. Thanks Coach Norman and Coach Shackell.
