The Midget Boy's Team consisted of all first year players. Under the leadership of Team Captain, Ryan Sencar, the boys posted a 9-5 season record and advanced to the play-off round. The Jr. Boys Basketball Team had a very good year as they tallied a 13 win and 5 loss overall record. The team finished 5th out of 12 double A schools and lost in play-off action to Oril- lia District. One highlight of the year was a tournament victory at St. Joe's high school in Barrie. The Collingwood Collegiate Senior Boys Basketball Team had a very successful season. The Senior Owls finished with 8 wins and 4 losses in league play and qualified for the play- offs. The Owls were flying high for three quarters, but could not snatch victory from the Blues in a tough season-ending loss. Robert Duda, Simcoe County All Star Game MVP and West Hill Invitational All Star, was the big man for CCI offensively and did the job on the defensive and offensive boards. Mike Lougheed ran the offense, broke the press and was the mot- ivational leader for the Senior Boys. James Carson, the three point specialist, and Don Shackell were the Owls' perimeter shooters. Brian McLure led the CCI Seniors defensively and was a driving force on offense. Kurt White was a mainstay in the defensive paint while Chris Schell caused panick by the op- position with aggressive defense and by forcing turnovers. Brad Rawn added control to the tempo, Trevor Percy added hustle to the defensive corner, and Mike Hamilton pulled down defen- sive rebounds. Highlights of the season included a consolation championship in the West Hill Invitational, and second half come- backs over Banting , Central and Eastview (even with their huge crowd). Members of the team (MID. BT.) were: (BK.) Don Shackell, Rob Duda, Trevor Percy, Dave Bristow. (FR.) Mike Hamilton, Chris Schell, Mike Lougheed, Brad Rawn, Brian McClure. Absent from the photo is Kurt White.
Jeff Lloyd, Brad Thomas and Coach Allard (TP. LT.) watch the action on the court while a determined Chris Schell (BT. LT.) shoves Brian McClure out of the way to make the shot. Chris Stoutenburg (TP. RT.) knows that practice makes perfect, and a tip off the fingers gives James Carson (BT. RT.) another point for his team.
