This year's Midget Boys Team was a good mix of second year players combined with some very talented rookies.
Outstanding defensive play by the entire team was the key as the Owls ran their regular season record to 8-0 and reached the finals in two of three tournaments.
Post season play saw them move past traditional rivals ODCVI and on to the GBSSA finals. Congratulatins to captain Ryan Sencar and An- drew McKay, Brian Kemsley, Chris Stoutenburg, Mike Allard, Derek Knight, Chris Skeaff, Sean Kelly, Paul Sproule, Jason Kennedy, and Scott Gallacher on a fine season from coach Lou Allard. The Junior Boys Basketball Team had a suc- cessful year with a 6 wins and 4 loss record. The team put together solid victories over Stayner, St. Joes, Bradford, Holy Trinity, Banting and Vanier. unfortunately the Fighting Owls came up short in a sudden death play-off game with Midland. Coaches Crago and McAndrew wish graduating players good luck and look forward to a strong ju- nior team next year.

The CCI Senior Boys Basketball Team en- joyed a very successful 1992-93 season. The Sen- ior Owls finished with a 3-2 regular season record but qualified for the GBSSA championships with a playoffvictory over Midland. It was the first time
in three years that the Collingwood Seniors qual- ified for the final four. CCI lost to the GB champs - Barrie North in the GBSSA semi-final.
Jason (Boog) McCarl led the Owls in scoring, with his patented baby-hook, and in rebounding, averaging over ten a game. Captains Brian (Norm) McClure and Don (Shack-Man) Shackell were the motivational leaders for the CCI Seniors. Brian led the Owls defensively with steals and charges taken, and Don was a clutch perimeter shooter and leading free-throw shooter. Derek Seymour controlled the offense and orchestrated the press- break. Ryan McNicol was the leading three-point shooter and quickest player on the team. Brad Ne- ville helped run the offense with a deceptive reach at the guard spot, while Jason Edwards was a so- lid rebounder at the center position, and Greg Ed- munds added quickness and scoring potential. Carmine Luongo brought experience for the first half of the season, while Brian Samuelson added a scoring punch from the bench and Andrew Hys- lop pulled down defensive boards. Derek Kaiser was the stats man and manager for the seniors.
The 1992-93 Senior Boys captured the consola- tion championship in the West Hill Invitational but the biggest highlight of the year was knock- ing off Midland to advance to GB's. In The BIG Game, CCI shot 63% from the floor and 100% from the line. Coach Hurst and the rest of the Colling- wood Senior Boys wish the best of luck to grad- uating Seniors: Brian McClure, Don Shackell, Jason Edwards, Andrew Hyslop and Derek Kaiser.
