winter announced its early arrival with a deep blanket of snow that fell at the beginning of November and it refused to leave. Skiers, snowboard- ers, and snowmobilers were delighted as the hills and trails opened to an early record. It wasn't difficult to catch the Christmas spirit and we were even rewarded with an early present of two snow days. Keeping
with tradition, the halls of CCI rang with Christmas carols which hustled everyone to their classes. Students worked together to create festive doors on their homerooms and, after much discussion, Mrs. Wypich's adult class won the honours as 'Best Dec- orated Door'. Miss Judges provided the huge tree that graced the main foyer and Miss Greer's homeroom accepted the challenge of stringing the lights and hanging the decorations on this giant spruce. The secretaries were responsible for the mitt tree in the main office which resulted in dozens of pairs of mittens and gloves being collected for the Salvation Army. Also Student Council's annual toy drive gave over $250.00 in toys to this worthwhile cause. The season wouldn't have been complete without the Christmas concerts organized by Mr. Redding. Students and staff were treated to skits, singers, bands, comedians and even Elvis made another appear- ance. By 3:30pm, the halls were empty as each headed home for the holidays. (lOP LT) Danny Grant and Jodi McQueen don green and red to celebrate the season. Winners of the best door (MID RT) were: (BK) Steve Fleming, Maria Logtenburg, Exilda Moreau, Harold Bowins, (FR) Cherie Dromantas, Brenda Vienot, Sarah Mac- Donald, Sharry Leef, Marry Squires, Lisa Dolson and Mrs Wypich.
