       After serving as Vice Principal at Collingwood Collegiate for several years and having completd thirty-four years in teaching, we must bid a fond farewell to Mr. Mickevicius as he retires in June of 1996.
Mr. Mickevicius began his teaching career in 1963 teaching history and geography at Port Credit Secondary School. Then he taught at Stayner Collegiate and Elmvale District High School, became Vice Principal at Banting Memorial High School, continued as Vice Principal at Barrie Central and finally came to Collingwood Collegiate as Vice Principal.
Mr. Mickevicius has undertaken many significant projects in his teaching career,including curriculum development with the Ministry of Education, teacher training and professional development working with a variety of teacher federations and the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education.
In his third year of teaching at Port Credit, Mr.Mickevicius received the high est Ministry of Education rating for his teaching performance. A t both Stayner Collegiate and Banting Memorial, Mr. Mickevicius was instrumental in promoting the Arts, working with the Art Gallery of Ontario.
As coach, Mr.Mickevicius and his teams won several GBSSA championships in V olleyball and Badminton. Three o f his Boys' V olleyball teams also finished in the top three positions in All-Ontario competition. At CCI, Mr. Mickevicius was a dedicated coach of Midget, Junior and Senior Girls' V olleyball.
In addition to his teams, Mr.Mickevicius will always fondly remember the history classes he taught over the years and the various dignitaries he and his classes met, including Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, leaders of the Parti Quebecois and the famous folk smger, Nana Maskouri.
These few words m honour of Mr. Mickevicius only scratch the surface of the contributions he has made over the many years in education. We wish him all the very best in his retirement and hope he enjoys a well deserved rest.

FAREWELL TO OUR VICE PRINCIPAL MR. RAY MICKEVICIUS
Mr. Mickevicius will be remembered by CCI staff and students as a Vice Principal who fully participated in all aspects of life at CCI. gives Coach Mickevicius a fitting farewell boost! They will miss him. (RT): Mr. Mickevicius models the popular new BLACK and GOLD tradition that he introduced with overwhelming grad support. Start- ing at Commencement in the fall of '95, the traditional cap and gown were worn by graduating students. Clearly, Mr. Mickevicius has been a dedicated supporter of CCI activities.
