The long weekend in May marks ttie 140th Anniversary of Collingwood Colle- giate, one of the oldest high schools in Ontario. During its' long history, CCI has witnessed 4 different locations. Its' initial school was a tavern during the evening, but a place of learning WHEN students were present during the days. Its' sec- ond location burned to the ground and IT moved to its' present school in 1952 from the building that is now Admiral Col- lingwood School. The reunion COMES every 5 years and it is always considered TO be an event that all former grads look forward to BEING a 'Fighting Owl' once again. All participants take GREAT pains to return to CCI in order to spend a wee- kend reminising with old friends and staff about the WINS and losses of a sports game, reliving the events that shaped their high school days and, of course, ad- mitting that no one has changed A bit. Years later, all of these former students admit that their days of black and GOLD can never be replaced and if each per- son could award a MEDAL for a momen- tous time in their life, itJwould definitely be granted to their CCI years!
