The Junior Boys Basketball Team had a great season. Coaches Bennett and McAndrew appreciated the hard work and commitment shown by the entire team . The Junior Owls were fortunate to have a very balanced team, so that all of the players saw great deal of court time. They enjoyed a 500 season during exhibition games, 6 season games and J weekend tournaments. After a long break, the boys ended their season whe1 they faced a tough St. Joe's team in the playoffs. Best of luck goes to Captain Mike Broadhurst, Danny Demers, Richard Matthews, Kurt Matzanke, Jeff Bottling, Justin Visser, Andrew Kopecki, Darah Queiser and Mark McCarl who are at senior net age. We look forward to the return of Adam Smith, Alex Trott, Jordan Gardhouse and Marco Yui.
The CCI Senior Boys Basketball Team had a very successful 1999-2000 season. The Senior Owls finished with a 5-1 league record, and 21 wins and 9 losses overall . Th season ended with a two-point loss to Midland, with the Owls clawing their way back from an 18-point deficit,just missing tl GBSSA championships. Highlights ofthe year included capturing the consolation championship at the Collingwood McDonal< Senior Invitational, and a convincing playotl victory over Barrie St. Joseph's on our home court.
The Collingwood Senior Owls included Collingwood McDonald ' s all-star Jon Cudne who scored 41 points against Barrie Eastvie\
Queiser, Mark McCarl, Mike Broadhurst, Greg Murch, Marco Yui, Coaches McAndrew and Bennett
in league action and led the team in scoring during the year. Captain Bryan Garon who was second on the team in guard scoring and successfully ran the offence for the second consecutive year. Simcoe County all-star JO< Prokopec who combined power and finesse I lead the team in double doubles (points and rebounds) Simcoe County all-star Ryan Rice who was the leading dunker and three-point shooter and captain Craig Broadhurst who was the big man on the perimeter and a team leader. Matt Campbell led the team in rebounds per minute, Mike Liotta was outstanding defensively, in both the full cour and in the half court; Jeremy Bell contribute( valuable offence and boards, Mike Hillier WI a deadly three-point threat, and Jacob Carr controlled tempo as backup point guard. Andrew Comly played excellent transition defence, with Derek Gardhouse grabbing boards, John Jardine adding assists, and Jaso Goessell adding defensive pressure. The Collingwood Senior Owls and Couch Hurst would like to with the best to graduating Seniors Jeremy Bell, Craig Broadhurst, Brya Garon, Joe Prokopec and Ryan Rice.
