The 2001 Alpine Ski Team had a very successful season as both girl and boys dominated almost every race that they entered. There were 2 invitational meets which they hosted along with Stayner. At the GB Finals, the girls Level 2 team and the boys Level I team won gold and a berth to OFSSA. The boys Level 2 team, led by Jason Gillham, won the silver, but did not advance to the provincials. However, Jason Gillham and Courtney Storey (Level I girl) represented CCI at OFSSA as individuals because of their excellent performances at GBs. The Level 2 girls won silver in both the giant slalom and the slalom events and the Level I boys team took the

bronze in the giant slalom. Courtney placed 4 hoverall in the GS and 9'h in
the slalom. Jason, in his second year in a row, defended his gold medal performances from OFSSA 2000 and again won gold in both races. Other individual podium finishes were Joanna Bennett, Level 22 with a silver and Jon Cudney, Level I with a bronze. Overall, CCI brought home 3 team medals and 4 individual medals, demonstrating that CCI is still one of the strongest schools in the province in alpine skiing. The Nordic Ski Team built on last year's success by sending II skiers to GBs and all of them qualified for OFSSA in this race. The Jr. Team came in 3'd overall with a strong 5'h place by Erin Buie, 12'h by Danielle Derochers, 13'h by Angie

Mcintosh and 14 h by Kelsey Nickel. The Sr. Boys Team also qualified on
the basis of a 51hplace by Jason Gilham, g•h by Sid Nurcombe, 121hby Bryan Recoskie, 15'h by Grant Kempster and 16'h by Josh Moore.Whitney MacDonald was 6'h as an individual in the Sr Girls and Ryan Kristy was 7'h in the Jr. Boys. At the OFSSA level, the Jr. Girls placed 7'h overall with a

strong 26'h place by Erin Buie. The Sr. Boys also came in 7hwith Sid

finishing with a strong 28'h position. Here Whitney also placed 30 hand Ryan
