Doreen Watts is retireing after 20 years of service as a secretary at Collingwood Collegiate Institude. During her years at CCI, Doreen was the Guidance Secretary, the Attendance Secretary and the office Receptionist. She took an active part in student activities, especially fundraising for the Co-Curricular Pro- gram by running bingo's for many years. Doreeen also assisted Student Council by volunteering at dances and other special events. Doreen was famous for her 'Friday Treats', especially her butter tarts. She also enjoyed decorating the main office for all special holidays, which always had a positive effect on students and staff.
Doreen was active in the community as well, working with the Big Sisters organization for many years. Students and staff will miss Doreen, but we know she will enjoy her retirement out in Whistler, BC and finally having the time to be a full time 'grandma'.
Mrs. Louise Carter has been Vice- Principal at CCI for the past 2 1/2 years. This smiley lady was born and raised in Toronto and immediately after graduating from high school, she moved to Paris to study French at the Sorbonne. Upon return- ing home, she attended the UN. of Waterloo and began her teaching career in London, Ontario. This mother of three moved to Barrie in 1981 and began her climb in administration.Mrs. Carter chose teaching because of her love of people. When she isn't at CCI, she can ne found skiing, getting into shape and pursuing her love of art. In fact, one of her retirement plans is to study painting in the south of France. Mrs. Carter leaves us with, " If you want something badly enough, you will work hard to acxhieve it!"

e concept was simple: offer keen drama students the chance to rtake in projects that are impossible for a classroom environ- ~nt. The end result: a group of the finest actors, writers, and ectors that CCI has to offer. Studio 138 is the new voice of dents at the core of CCI's drama program. Their debut perfor- nce, "A Very Ozzie Christmas" took place during December h, 2003, and delighted a crowd of about 200 in the CCI gym, and ts just a taste of what's to come. From theatre to film, from the ;t line to the final curtain- we are CCI's drama club.
