The Collingwood Collegiate Senior Girls Basketball Team had an excellent year in )4. TheCollingwoodSeniorscapturedtheGBSSASenior"AAAA"Championshipforthe time in the last five years and qualified for the OFSAA Championships. The Owls fini shed :h 20 victories against 10 defeats over the season competing in top tournaments throughout tario. CCI captured two tournaments, winning the 16-team Kawartha Classic in Peterborough

The Collingwood Collegiate Senior Boys Basketball Team had successful year in 2004-05. The Collingwood Seniors lost in the playoffs
J Barrie lnnisdale despite scoring a season high 52 second-half points. The )w!s upset a strong Kitchener Forest Heights squad in overtime in the Mike /loser Invitational in Kitchener, weredominant in Area 4 again, lost in the
consolation final of the Barrie Roundballlnvitational, and were competitive against the best teams in Simcoe County.
James Niermann. with the best jump stop penetration in Simcoe County. led the Senior Owls in scoring and defense, while Captain Scott Tomlinson ran the offense and scored in bunches. Wayne Wilson was the Chaim1ru1 of the Boards and the third leading scorer. Justin Ford was the Most Improved Player and had the most three-pointers for the CCI Seniors, while Mitchell Sheaves added perimeter scoring and experience. Colin Hesp played very good defense and cut off passing lanes. Zack O'Gorman was the defensive spark on the 2-3 zone, Justin Price Matthews grabbed boards and tipped in offensive misses. and Matt Harrh showed inspired defen~ive and passing skills. Mr. Hirst and Mr. Ball would like to wish the best to graduating Seniors Matr Harris, Justin Price Matthews, Mitchell Sheaves. and Scott Tomlinson.

Captain Nadine Scweishelm was the leading rebounder and one of the front three on the vaunted CCI Press. Brooke Nickel, tournament All-Star at Kawartha and Orillia was the leading scorer, and the second leading rebounder. Jasmine Cuff scored the.winning basket against Innisdale in the GB Final. Jenna MacLeod. three-year senior. started in the post and supplied solid rebounding. Chelsea Stoklas grabbed boards and added points, with Katie Bell providing a scoring punch. Kaitlin Garbutt added su·ong defense in the guard spot. Michaela Dance supplied another s<;;oring touch at guard. while Paige Meesters and Julia Roest provided very good ball handling and passiug. and Carley Bell contributed rebounds. Mrs. Haiduk and Mr. Hirst congratulate this
team on an outstanding 2004 season.
